As a CNA, you will play a very important role in the nursing field. You will work under a nurse supervision (RN or LPN) to provide personal care to patients. There are different types of care base on the work setting. Long term care facilities such as nursing homes or hospital may require more personal hands on care while assisted living facilities or private duties require mostly assistance to get around.

What are the requirements to become a CNA in Florida?

The requirements are very simple: 1) You must be at least 17 years old or older 2) You must have a valid social security and ID. 3) You must have a clean criminal background check history. While many schools offer courses from four weeks to months, you can become a CNA in as little as 1 to 4 weeks in Florida, depending on the routes of certification. Southwestern Vocational Training is an adult base preparation center making a difference in the community for nearly 2 years in SWFL. We can help you achieve your certification in a short, inexpensive and professional manner if you have the aptitude and motivation to challenge the CNA exam. We provide hands on skills with the assistance of a licensed nurse to fully prepare you for the state exam. This class can be completed in as little as 1 week (day class only) or 2 week (night class only).

SVT offers a very flexible schedule to attend classes. Our day class schedule is 8am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday. The evening schedule is from 5pm to 9:30 Monday through Thursday.
